Collaborative Design - Textbook Studios - Vicky Carr

After listening to the informative talk by Vicky, from Textbook Studios, a lot of professional practice was brought to light of how one might operate.

For Textbook Studios, a lot of their work is collaborative and they do commercial work, risographic printing, studio projects, and teaching workshops in educational settings.

Studios such as these are proficient in their practices and processes and offer their services to those who either lack the expertise or the facilities. To quote Vicky:

“It’s okay to not know or care about design, print, or websites. Work with someone who does.”

This collaborative approach helps many artists to expand their horizons and build their careers up from starting somewhere. Some might even begin by asking for help or working in unison with another party and then learn the processes themselves to be able to become a more versatile practitioner.

Working together for greater success overall is far better than trying it alone with sub-par results, unless one has the patience.
