Product Photography Technique Practice #2

In an attempt to widen my portfolio with more genres of photography, I tried my hand at some more product photography but with glass aftershave bottles to work on my lighting strategies around glass and transparent objects.

Using a combination of harsh and soft lighting, I believe I have created some well balanced imagery with these photographs below as evidence. I still have a ways to go with refining my skills in this area, but I am eager to learn.

In search of practical and visual critique, I reached out to my peer and friend, Molly Macafee, who is more proficient in the realm of product photography. Her main feedback was that the images were a high standard but to improve I should be more considerate of making sure the bottles are cleaner and polished beforehand and that there are techniques in which I can make the edges of the metallic bottle caps more defined in the edges.
