Facemask Photoshoot

Looking at expression with a different viewpoint, I experimented with the idea of minor obscuring of the model’s identity whilst creating engaging imagery through the texture of the bubbles created from these facemasks.

Using a PhaseOne camera and a beauty/glamour-shot lighting setup I created high-key photographs depicting different expressions from these models.

The masks should have bubbled up and reacted more so for that I must criticise my own work but if I was to try this again I would either use a model with a more naturally oily complexion as these masks react better with this skintype. Alternatively I could use any model but perhaps an oil-based beauty product applied to the skin before the mask could cause this reaction.

That being said though, I do believe that the imagery created here has been successful in creating a sense of intrigue and even humorous.
